The beaches we actually send our guests to
2026-08-26
You came for the water. Here is where we would put your towel.
Okaloosa Island
The wide, unhurried stretch closest to our corner of town. Public access points sit every few blocks, the sand squeaks underfoot, and on a weekday morning you can watch the fishing boats head out with a coffee in hand.
The east passes
Where the inland water meets the Gulf the current does the sculpting — deep greens, sandbars that move season to season, and the best shell-hunting after a storm. Swim near the lifeguard stands; the passes themselves are for watching, not wading.
When to go
Early. The light is soft until about ten, the parking is easy, and the afternoon sea breeze hasn't picked up. If you are staying with us in Fort Walton Beach, most of these are under fifteen minutes from your door — close enough to go back for the sunset too.
